The view from up here

We bought our first home knowing that it would need a little bit of renovation before we could move in. We've been patching and painting and ripping out old floors for hours. I had no idea I was so handy with a pick axe. At least, I was handy until Jeff proclaimed me a safety hazard and took it away. You almost take out one toe and you lose all axe privileges. It's not like anyone even needs a pinky toe.

I haven't posted any pictures yet because I want to show you the before and afters since the renovation is pretty dramatic. But this morning we went over to the house early, so early that the fog was just barely lifting, and stood on our new front porch. I love that porch. It was the french doors and the little white railing that made me fall in love with the house. And this was our view from the top of the hill:

Won't it be beautiful when the leaves change? I'm on a mission to find the perfect set of rocking chairs to sip my coffee in. Yes, rocking chairs. Yes, I'm only 26. I'm southern, y'all.

WOW! What a gorgeous view. I totally agree with you about the rocking chairs on the porch. My dream home will have a front porch and chairs to sit and gaze at God’s gorgeous creation in the morning. What could be better really.

This view does require rocking chairs!!! I spent last weekend in the mountains, in a rocking chair with yummy coffee. That’s the good life!

I’m pretty sure there was an Olympic figure skater a decade or two ago that didn’t have a pinky toe, something about an accident in her childhood. So obviously you’re correct and they are optional.
