The Office Makeover (Finally!)

As I like to say to Scarlette while using jazz hands “All Done!”  It took me forever (and by forever I mean “since we moved in two years ago”) because I’m all cheap  and saved up lots of birthday/holiday gift cards and freebies for everything I needed wanted.

The wallflowers were a gift from Megan of Lilac Saloon. They are one of my favorite things about the space because with the oversize pillows they act as a substitute headboard. And also? They are awesome.

What you don’t see in these pictures are the millions of toys strewn about the floor.  The space is tiny and definitely more functional than catalog worthy – a filing cabinet serves as the nightstand to hold all 5,973,182  of Scarlette’s medical files, the bed lifts off a storage base and there are a bunch of baskets to hold her toys, etc.   But I am just happy that it is done and feels like a happy place to spend most of our day.

By the way, I can’t take a straight picture to save my life. Every shot I take is crooked. I blame my astigmatism. And the Kardashians. And also that gigantic cup of coffee I had before taking these.

The best thing about this room is that the view from my desk is the same as from our balcony. I tried to take another picture with the fall leaves but turns out, photographing through a window screen does not a good picture make.

Thanks for all your input on this project and peeking in our progress!

  1. [...] Last year I finally turned all of the Pottery Barn gift cards that I had been hoarding into their daily system, which Jeff lovingly installed in the office for me. (I say “lovingly” because he probably doesn’t want me to tell you about all the pseudo-cursing he did while trying to make it level. Also, you can see it here.) [...]
