GIVEAWAY: Happy Feet 2 3D Combo Pack

My niece Nixie loves the movie Happy Feet. She will tell you that herself, she will say “Keeka, I loooooooooove Happy Feet!” and it’s the cutest thing. She turned three this year and my sister took her to see Happy Feet 2 in the theater. It was her first time going to the movies and she was super excited.

So when I was asked to review Happy Feet 2 on dvd I was like “YES!” because I am a really cool aunt and thought it would be fun to host a little Happy Feet 2 party for my niece. I know, right? I am definitely going to be her favorite. I mean, granted my sister only has the one sister, which is me, but still. Favorite aunt in the house!

I printed out a few stills from the movie as well as some Happy Feet 2 coloring pages. I also picked up some jumbo sugar cookies at the bakery for Nixie. And by bakery, I mean Publix. And by Nixie, I mean me.

Then I gave let her unwrap the dvd.

She’s a very slow un-wrapper.

When she finally got it open, she exclaimed “It’s MUMBLE!” and then she asked “Keeka, is it my birthday?” When I told her that it wasn’t, she responded gleefully “Mommy, it’s not my birthday and I got a Mumble present!”

And then we put it in the dvd player and synced it with the free Happy Feet 2 app that we downloaded here. You can click here to see a trailer previewing the app, it’s pretty cool – it syncs with the movie so that you can sing and dance along with the characters. Remember when we were kids and we played Oregon Trail? Right. I love technology, always and forever.

I had never seen the movie until now and it was definitely fun. It was “safe for the whole family” as our local radio station likes to say. And let’s be honest: it’s a movie about penguins. You can’t go wrong with a movie about penguins. Those suckers are cute. While it’s not quite as good as the first film, I liked the lessons and songs in it. And the animation was great, it was really incredible to watch. But what mattered the most? My niece loved it.
