Scarlette Sunday Snapshot | 8.1.12

This is life right now: Scarlette is either reading a book, asking me to read her a book, repeatedly saying the word “book” or she’s running around laughing to herself, probably about something she saw in a book.

Her hair? We call that the “someone just gave the baby peanut butter” look. Scarlette apparently thinks that peanut butter is akin to hair gel.

Also, how in the world do I get that child in focus? She’s a constant blur in my camera. I will give you one batrillion dollars if you can tell me how to fix this. Note: I won’t actually give you one batrillion dollars.

Andplusalso, I found that old quilt stashed away in my basement. Hand-stitched by my (I think) great-great grandmother, I decided that it needed to live upstairs. I found a ton of crazy things in my basement. Because I’m a hoarder. The good news is that if I ever need a to-scale replica of Princess Diana’s wedding dress OR the notes my friend Dustin wrote me in ninth grade, I have both.

About Kayla Aimee

A twenty-something not-so-newlywed and southern girl through and through, Kayla Aimee (you can call her KA) likes scrapbooking, Macy's at Christmas time, and really good fitting jeans. By day she is a stay at home mom but by night she is a blogger, deal finder and kick arse ping pong player.

Fast shutter speed! I don’t know what kind of camera you are using, but if it is a dslr, you can crank up the shutter speed in manual. This is probably the only way to get fast little kids. :)

No help at all with the camera-out-of- focus thing, but that is ONE GORGEOUS QUILT! You’re right, it should live upstairs and receive MUCH LOVE. AND even out of focus, that is one beautiful baby ya got there.

Can’t help with the camera business (we’ll look back at my toddler and think he was a ghost) but I really love your term “Andplusalso.” Can I use it? I’ll give you credit every time:)

What you wrote about her love for books describes Matthew perfectly, too. No wonder he has a little toddler crush on her. If they ever went on a date, I bet it would be to a library.

    Shoot her in sports mode.

It is so great to see her up running around, and just being plain ole happy. I am sorry for everything you and your husband went through, so sorry. To look at her now is like looking at a miracle, she’s such a beauty.

That quilt deserves daylight lol. I have no doubt that you’re doing exactly what your great-great grandmother intended it for, to use her quilt and to love it. It’s beautiful. I’ve just started to teach myself crochet, thanks to you-tube, and I absolutely love it. Eventually I hope to pour love and care into making a crocheted throw which I hope will become an heirloom – just like your Project Life and ‘blog book’ when you print your blog for Scarlette.

I thought she looks like she has a 50′s quiff!!! So cute! x

lol! Yes, we like to laugh at that hair! My great grandmother taught me to crochet- it’s way easier than knitting IMO! Also, people always need other people to make them scarves so it’s a totally useful skill!
