Let’s Kick Some Rash w/Boudreaux’s Butt Paste (+ A $100 Visa Gift Card Giveaway!)

boudreaux's butt paste review

This is one of those times where I am reviewing a product that has some longevity in our house. We’ve been using Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® for diaper rashes since we brought Scarlette home from the hospital. I used it on my charges when I was nanny-ing my way through college and ever since then it’s found its way into every baby shower gift I give to an expecting mother (click CONTINUE READING to read more about our experience using Boudreaux’s Butt Paste as a cloth diapering family as well as enter to win a $100 Visa Gift Card!).

We use the All Natural Boudreaux’s Butt Paste (which is the one in the green tube) because Scarlette’s skin is super sensitive and the diaper rash creams with beeswax in them seem to be the ones that work the best for her. We do cloth diapers and I’ve read that it can leave residue behind. We haven’t had that issue with it though, because we use bamboo liners which seem to keep the cream from migrating from bottom to cloth.

Our issues with diaper rash originally stemmed from preemie-skin. Micro-preemie babies still have raw nerve endings, which makes their skin super sensitive and the smallest amount of chafing creates a rash. As she grew older and we dealt with more and more GI issues, diaper rash accompanied their treatment while we worked to get her medication dosing right.

Diaper rash is just the worst. Our arsenal of defense mainly consists of a few tubes of All Natural Boudreaux’s Butt Paste and some fresh air for the booty. We have what we like to call “Nakey Baby Time” where we clean her up real good and then send her on her merry, nakey way. Then we’ll coat her bottom with Boudreaux’s Butt Paste before diapering. We also put a little calendula oil on her post bath, to keep down the irritation.

So when BlogHer contacted me to see if I was interested in reviewing/hosting a giveaway I said yes because I knew that A) this was a product that I already stood behind and B) I love being able to pass the blessing of what I do on to y’all and giving away a $100 Visa Gift Card is a fun way to do that!

Rashes are not fun. Boudreaux’s Butt Paste works great. Even if you are not a baby!

  3. 3

I love boudreaux’s too! We cloth diapered and I used a liner to keep it off of the diapers. Burt’s bees also makes a great natural rash cream.

  4. 4

I agree, Boudreaux’s works really well.

    Corrine Adams says:

I used Boudreaux’s on my son as well, And I am famous for giving it as part of a baby gift! Out of all the offerings in this category that are out there it always worked best for me.

  6. 6

I use butt paste plus naked bum time too!

  7. 7

    We use Boudreaux’s too!

  8. 8

We needed all natural here. Anything with fragrance or anything would turn my daughter red almost instantly!

  9. 9

When my kids were young- we always used Boudreaux’s! Back then it wasn’t as known so I did get some looks when I’d recommend it!

  10. 10

Besides using barrier creams, we would let them air out without a diaper on for a little while.

Boudreaux’s is the absolute best cream! We use it and love it! And we do cloth diapers, too. No problems with this cream!

  13. 13

Wish I had known about this when my twins were preemies. We used A&D ointment and also let them have nakey baby time :)

  14. 14

im on baby #3 and i have been lucky none of my babies so far have gotten a diaper rash, i just make sure and keep them dry..

  15. 15

We used liners with the cloth diapers; I was paranoid to get the cream on the inserts! Another tip: we used Aveeno’s oatmeal calming bath stuff to calm the skin when our son had rashes, works great!

  16. 16

Never tried it but I would love to…thanks for the chance.

  17. 17

i haven’t had any kids yet myself, but am already mentally bookmarking things like this for when the time comes…thanks for always sharing your favorite products

  18. 18

We kick diaper rash by treating it quickly with a diaper cream and changing diapers more frequently to keep the area clean and dry.

  19. 19
  20. 20

Nakey time after a bath always helps our family kick the diaper rash.

  21. 21

We love boudreaux’s at our house too–I haven’t seen the green packaging before and will definitely be on the lookout for it!

  22. 23

Some diaper free time usually helps.

  23. 24

We use coconut oil to keep his behind nice and soft, and we have California Baby to ward off rashes.

  24. 25

With our first child, we tried several diaper creams before deciding on Boudreaux’s. With our second child, we’ve gone straight to Boudreaux’s. Love it!

  25. 26

We’ve used Butt Paste and have found the higher the zinc oxide the better! Thanks for the chance!

  26. 27

I don’t use Bourdeaux’s all of the time, but I can remember it being recommended and used when one of my boys had a terrible rash. Worked well!

  27. 28

Butt paste all the way for all 3 of my kids here! Wouldn’t use anything else. Occasionally I have had to add some nystatin creme (which is a prescription) to the one of mine that was 3 weeks early.

  28. 29

I love butt paste!!!! It my go to diaper rash cream!

  29. 30

I’m intrigued by coconut oil, but cloth diapering works, too!

There is absolutely no doubt that this is THE BEST DIAPER RASH OINTMENT THERE IS! And having had four babies I can tell you this from a lot of trial and error!

  34. 35

I used the diaper cream before the rash appears. I also used the wipes for sensitive skin

  45. 46

I some of that stuff but haven’t used it yet. When my little one got a bad diaper rash, we turned to this ointment called Motherlove diaper rash/thrush ointment at a locally owned store and it worked wonders! But we also do naked baby time :)

  46. 47

Being sure to change diapers often, keep the skin clean, and using a skin protectant, worked well.
