Fly Away: Good Reads & A $100 Visa Gift Card Giveaway

Book Review: Fly Away by Kristin Hannah sponsored post

Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors. I loved her novel Firefly Lane and was excited to review Fly Away, in partnership with BlogHer. Get to read a book by one of my favorite authors and give away a $100 Visa gift card to one of my readers? Please and thank you. It's totally not an April Fool's joke. The story in Fly Away is centered on friendship, the kind of unbreakable bond that is forged over a lifetime of sharing secrets and the kinds of relationships that remind me of these girls:  The friends that stand up with you at the altar to share your joy and stand by you in a hospital room to share your grieving. The ones who have … [Read more...]

Get More Target Coupons with Cartwheel + $1,000 Target GiftCard® Giveaway!

how to use target cartwheel app, target cartwheel app reviews, target cartwheel app tips

I'm doing cartwheels over my first giveaway for 2014: A $1,000 Target GiftCard®! (Cartwheels. See what I did there? I crack myself up.) As a girl who  loves her a good sale, I've been using the new Target Cartwheel app for months. Long before they contacted me about writing this post I was tapping away on my phone to pull up extra coupons. I love mobile coupons because they are so convenient. Plus, I hate using scissors. I cannot cut things in a straight line to save my life, not to mention that I hate how much ink is used when printing out coupons. And mobile coupons means that my "helper" cannot "help" me with my coupons. And by … [Read more...]

In My Honest Opinion | Products I Love & A $500 Giveaway To The Honest Co.

the honest company review, the honest co. discount code

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Honest Company.I ordered my first set of products from The Honest Company a few months back. I had gotten a sample of their body wash for babies in my Citrus Lane box and loved it. We are very particular about what products we use on Scarlette, partially because we're THOSE people and partially because she has super sensitive preemie skin. If you look at Scarlette harshly she breaks out in a rash. The Honest Company asked if I would like to try out some new products in exchange for hosting both a discount code and a giveaway for my readers. Then they said the giveaway was for a $500 … [Read more...]

Christmas Is (Not) Here (Yet) But This Brandon Heath Christmas Album Giveaway Is

brandon heath christmas is here

A few weeks back I posted on facebook that I was listening to Christmas music. In my defense, I was writing my book and working on the chapter about what it's like to spend Christmas in a Children's Hospital (spoiler alert: it's not awesome.) Anyhow, I mentioned my favorite Christmas song, The Night Before Christmas, which happens to be by one of my favorite artists by the name of Brandon Heath. Apparently, Brandon Heath has people who read the internets and said people very kindly sent me an autographed copy of his album and mentioned that he was about to release a new Christmas album and asked if I'd like to give away a few … [Read more...]

Stencils In Scarlette’s Room (+ A Giveaway)

Plaid Folk Art Multi Surface Paint and Handmade Charlotte stencils

Everyone needs a hobby and one of mine is making stuff. I like to get crafty, y'all. I recently entered into a partnership where I'll get to try out different craft supplies and then share fun things with y'all, like projects and gift cards. If you can get someone else to bankroll your hobby, do it, that's what my husband likes to say. (And all of my scrapbooking friends nod their heads. Scrapbooking is EXPENSIVE!) For this one the folks over at Plaid sent me their newly launched Folk Art Multi Surface Paint and Handmade Charlotte stencils. I had planned to do a big laundry room project because our laundry room could desperately use a … [Read more...]

DIY Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer + Green Mountain Coffee & Keurig Giveaway

diy pumpkin spice coffee creamer, homemade diy pumpkin spice coffee creamer

I'm a coffee girl. In college I worked at a coffee shop and so I learned a lot of tricks of the trade. I also learned that sometimes coffee shop customers are awkward. Seriously, I used to write an entire series on this blog called "Tales From The Coffee Shop" about my awkward interactions with customers. (I cannot believe that I've been writing this blog since college, y'all.) I drink a lot of coffee now because I am Scarlette's mother and if you've read here for any length of time you know that my two and a half year old is just about the cutest thing you've ever seen. She's also a complete handful who enjoys participating in random … [Read more...]

Spray Pal 4,000 Fan Celebration (An Epic Cloth Diaper Product Giveaway)

spray pal diaper sprayer

Hi everyone! Today I'm turning the blog over to my friend Jennifer, a fellow preemie mama friend who is also the inventor of an amazing cloth diaper product called the Spray Pal. She's put together an amazing giveaway of cloth diaper and baby products so I hope you enjoy!First of all, huge thanks to Kayla Aimee for allowing me to host this special celebration on her blog. I'm just not a really the blogger type at all, so when we talked about doing a big giveaway celebration for Spray Pal I was like, "OH YEAH! What a great idea!" and then I was like, "Wait. I don't have a blog. But I know someone who does!" Kayla and I "met" through an online … [Read more...]

My Picky Eater & How Copy-Kids Helps

copy kids review

One thing that we have been struggling with for a long time is eating. You can read here to see where we were at about this time last year (and how big she's gotten- she's wearing the same dress!) Scarlette has really overcome a lot of her sensory and oral aversions. We spent a long time doing really intense therapy and I think that was incredibly worthwhile. Now we're at the point where it's hard to differentiate between Preemie Oral Aversion and Picky Two Year Old Toddler. (Click READ MORE to continuing reading + enter a special giveaway for the DVD we've been using & a Whole Foods gift card!) … [Read more...]
