Giveaway | Fueled by Shell Fuel Rewards Network Program

gas

(I try to space out my giveaways 2x per month but sometimes the schedule changes on me – I thought y’all might forgive me for the chance to win $100 gas card though ;) )
Part of our weekly routine is to fill the car up with gas on Sunday after we’ve been to the grocery store. I have a grocery rewards card that I can use at our local Shell station to save a few cents on each gallon of gas. I’ve been known to nag sweetly remind my husband to remember to use our rewards card when he’s filling up because I’m a little bit annoying super helpful about frugality.

So when BlogHer asked if I wanted to try out the new Fuel Rewards Network™ program to save even more money on gas, and generously offered to host a giveaway of a $100 Shell Gift Card for my readers, I obviously said yes. Because gas is flippin’ expensive. Once upon a time when I got my driver’s license, gas cost less than a dollar per gallon. I also had very frizzy hair and no boyfriend so some things get better with time, y’all.

GIVEAWAY | Tinkerbell Secret Of The Wings (And Stories About My Sister)

That is my sister. We’re making Blue Steel faces because that’s appropriate for wedding photos. Spoiler Alert: This DVD is about sisters. That isn’t really a spoiler because the DVD description tells you that. Except I didn’t read the DVD description so I was actually sort of surprised at that part.

Remember how once upon a time (see what I did there?) I auditioned to be Tinker Bell at Disney World and then quit halfway through the audition process when I discovered that the girl who plays Tinker Bell? They strap her to a zipline and send her flying off of the top of Cinderella’s castle every night. I might be small and pixie-like but I do not have a death wish, y’all.

And that’s the story of how I worked at a coffee shop perfecting lattes where I was totally safe, except for that one time I sliced my hand open on the bagel knife. Only that turned out fine, except for the guy who ordered a bagel.

Sometimes I start telling a story and people look at me like “What in the heckfire are you even talking about?”

I’ve seen a surprising amount of the Disney Fairies movies because of the fact that Tinker Bell seems to be a favorite of both my nieces as well. So when I have them over we typically go to the library and let them check out a Tinker Bell movie. Except by “go to the library” I mean “browse Amazon Prime” because my library only has like, two Tinker Bell movies.

There are a lot of perks to being a review blogger, like trying out new makeup and getting to go to fun events but nothing as great as getting a copy of the Disney movie “Secret of the Wings” your niece put on her Christmas list a month before it releases and inviting her over for a surprise movie date. My nieces think I am super cool. They also think I am magic because I haven’t yet revealed to them that the video baby monitor is how I can see and talk to them when I am in another room, so no one tell them that secret.

The 7 Project | An invitation and a giveaway

7 - An Experimental Mutiny Against ExcessHi. Remember when I read this book and I wouldn’t stop talking about how it changed my life? I know. I’m annoying like that.

So, this book changed my life. (Don’t think of it as me being redundant. Think of it as me being emphatic. I will add some italics to help with that.)

I’m not the only one, apparently, because the girls over at (in)courage have chosen it to be the newest read for the Bloom book club. My friend Jess will be leading the online book club beginning on August 27.

I’ll be joining the online book club and I’ve decided to post my thoughts on each chapter here during the course of it to open up more discussion. Because I love the idea of doing this with community.

I believe in this book. It didn’t just push me to a new place in my faith, it shaped the way I live, the way I want to raise my daughter.

So I want to give away two copies here in case any of you have been thinking of reading this book and would like to join the online book club. No one asked me to give these away or is sponsoring this post. If you win one you can tell me if you’d prefer a physical or kindle version. (This is a flash giveaway for today only so that I can pick a winner and mail the copies in time for y’all to participate!)

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment and then click the I DID THIS button on the rafflecopter entry. If you can’t see the rafflecopter entry just note that in your comment and I’ll manually enter you. I would love it though, if you’d consider sharing this post to spread the word about 7 + the book club, so as always you can get additional entries for tweeting/liking.

Get Bronzed: $100 Target GiftCard Giveaway

It’s no secret that I am pale. I mean, for one thing, I mention it often. I tend to overshare. So the thing about bronzing powder is that it doesn’t usually work for me. It’s supposed to give you a “sun-kissed glow” but most of my attempts at it have ended up more like “rubbed-some-dirt-on-her-face” because, well, brushing tan-colored powder on vampire-esque white skin tends to have that effect.

Then I was introduced to illuminating bronzing powder and, sucker that I am for all things shimmery, I jumped on board thinking that the coveted “sun-kissed glow” was in my reach. Sadly, it eluded me once more. Only this time I sparkled.

So the only reason I agreed to review Sonia Kashuk’s new Illuminating Bronzer is because it is made by Sonia Kashuk, and I’ve never tried a product of hers that I didn’t like. And also because I am a glutton for punishment. But mostly because I am a big fan of Sonia Kashuk products. I remember reading about them in my Seventeen magazine and anxiously awaiting their debut at Target. I just really dated myself by admitting that to you. I’m about to be twenty-nine, y’all. TWENTY-NINE. Twenty years ago I was watching Boy Meets World on Friday nights and playing Pogs with my sister. Five For Friday | Week In Review

  • Picture number two? Pinterest fail. I was trying to make Scarlette some sensory bottles with glitter in them. On Pinterest they look like magical fairy sparkles. In my house, they look like half-drunk bottles of Coca-Cola. I am unclear as to how I managed to mess up “put glitter and water in a bottle.” Help.
  • I joined Clickin’ Moms last week and I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner, like two years ago when my friend Courtney was encouraging me to. I don’t want to be a professional photographer but I do want to take some kick arse photos of Scarlette at the local Easter Egg hunt this year (ALMOST OUT OF QUARANTINE!) The tutorials are amazing when it comes learning your camera better.
  • Let’s talk about people who text while driving. Listen. Stop doing that. I do not want to die because you had to text Jill something about something about OMG JUSTIN BIEBER! I also do not want to die because you feel it is imperative to tell facebook about how long your drive home is taking you. Whenever I see one of those pop up in my newsfeed, I have to sit on my hands not to comment on their wall about how texting + driving = bad. Have you people NOT seen Glee? And don’t even try to tell me that you’re only texting at red lights because then I’ll just assume you are the reason I missed the turn arrow yesterday. Twice.
  • I went to Publix earlier in the week and they had lined up about six brooms standing on their own right inside of the entrance. I really, really love my Publix.
