Pin ItI’m playing catch-up on Project Life right now. I got behind when Scarlette was sick and it overwhelmed me. Plus, all of my supplies are currently packed away and pulling them out + putting them back every week was creating a mess I couldn’t stay on top of. And that also overwhelmed me. Plus, Scarlette kept eating my stickers. The whole point of this project was NOT to be overwhelmed so I changed tactics.
I’m catching up on all of June digitally. I created all of my pages in photoshop and then I will print them out and add physical elements to them when I have access to my supplies. Amen.
Nixie spent the night for a playdate and I wanted to put a few of my favorite instagram pictures of the girls together in my album as an insert for the week. I made this page and then I created a template version of it so that I can use it again and just change out the photos + background paper.
If you want to use it, you can download the layered PSD file HERE. And if you’ve never used a layered template before, don’t be scared, I wrote a tutorial with screenshots HERE.

I think I’m finding my groove with this project. I’ve discovered that the Design F format works best for me, that I really like sequential photos and that simple is better to keep me from being overwhelmed by it. I spotted these free printables from Miss Tiina on Pinterest and downloaded them to use this week. I print my journaling cards on semi-gloss photo paper and then write on them with an American Crafts slick writer. It makes hand writing the journaling much easier.

In case you were wondering, yes that IS a basketball hoop hanging in our foyer. So that, you know, if you drop by for a visit you can immediately engage in a rousing game of hoops with my husband.
I bought that for Jeff for his birthday thinking he would hang it in the bedroom but as it turns out, the foyer’s high ceilings and hardwood floors were practically begging to be turned into a basketball court. I mean, I thought it wanted to be turned into a gallery wall for family photographs but apparently, I don’t know my foyer as well as I thought. Scarlette’s favorite thing to do is stand at the top of the stairs and watch Jeff shoot. I love how she’s on her tippy toes.
The second photo is a peek at how I journal under the mini photos. I adhere them with washi tape either on the outside for decoration, or in the case of the photostrip I adhere it on the inside so that you can’t see it. That way I can lift both to see more details about the photos. Also, yes I did totally mis-date it.
The album is very Scarlette heavy and I am okay with that. I started Project Life to document her second year with us- more than just the big milestones, but all the little things like how much she loves to pull things out of boxes or the way she decides she wants to wear a hat around the house (she’s very insistent for someone who only says three words!)
Project Life In Progress: Title Page, Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5, Week Six – I know I normally post these on Tuesdays but tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and I have some *love* to share in the form of two giveaways that I am really excited about!
I’m linking up with my friend Jess at The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday, where there are tons of ideas!
Here are the supplies I used:

Pin ItThis was hands down the quickest page I’ve made thus far. I saw these “Say What?” journaling cards from One Happy Mama last week and *swoon*. Are they not the cutest?
So I printed out those and then created a quick title card and quote card in photoshop to match them. The quote is from Ann Voskamp’s 1000 Gifts, which you should read if you haven’t already. And the idea for the quote card came from seeing Elise’s Project Life pages, which is why all those hours spent on pinterest paid off. And the little felt heart confetti I’ve been using came from Lilac Saloon. I adore it.
It’s just one page this week but took me about thirty minutes to make and it covers all the big things that happened; notably Scarlette learning to use a sippy cup and doing the hand motions to the Baby Bumblebee song. Also, please look at how my child prefers to sit. That’s right. With her legs crossed at the ankles. Like a princess. Move over, Princess Kate.
P.S. You know you’re a scrapbooker when your husband obligingly sends you a cell phone photo of himself so that you can include it in your Project Life album.

It’s tough to get a good picture through the page protectors! This week I made the title card and the journaling cards with the labels on them because nothing in my stash was exactly what I wanted. Then I decided to save them as a pdf so I can use them again and figured I’d link them up here as a free printable. You can click here to download them.

For the second page I used a Jenni Bowlin butterfly rub-on in the top left pocket. It wouldn’t rub on to the page protector so I just cut around it, removed the backing and slipped it in. I like that it is transparent, so that you can see it from either side.
I used a lot of photos from my cell phone this week. Also, I ran out of photo paper and so half the photos were printed at Walgreens and now it’s driving me crazy that my black and whites don’t match. Out of all of the photos my favorites are the the ones in the photostrip of Scarlette cuddling in bed with me for her morning bottle. I love that baby. Oh, and some people were asking about making a photostrip. I just use this 4×6 template + tutorial from Stacey Bishop. HTH!
